We developed specialized software to meet industry requirements for both the design and diagnosis of electrical machines. Our software is based on accurate analytical models validated through Finite Element Analysis and Experimental Testing, and documented in technical papers. We used analytical models to reduce computational time, enabling fast electric machine analysis without requiring specialized hardware.

The diagnostic part is introduced using well-established techniques such as Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA), which can provide information about motor faults by analyzing both transient and steady-state rotor currents. Furthermore, a non-invasive method is introduced to measure the stray flux, which is also able to provide a fully reliable diagnostic of the machine.

This software was awarded with the 7th Gear Challenge as a “promising technological solution” by angel investor Chris Klaus.

Design and Analysis

  • Winding analysis for new design to maximized electromagnetic performance and reduce losses. This features also help re-winding existing machine to improve performance or change voltage and speed operation.
  • Performance assessment of industrial electrical machine topologies:
    •  Induction Machine (IM): Through the geometrical and electrical parameters, the software estimates the machine performance, such as electromagnetic torque, efficiency, power factor, and more. Additionally, it is possible to estimate the performance curve using the machine equivalent circuit. The nameplate information can also be defined.
    • Synchronous Reluctance Machine (SynRM): Through the geometrical and electrical parameters, the software estimates the machine performance, such as electromagnetic torque, efficiency, power factor, saliency, and more.
    • Surface Mounted Permanent Magnet Machine (PMSM): Through the geometrical and electrical parameters, the software estimates the machine performance, such as electromagnetic torque, induce voltage, efficiency, power factor, and more.

Diagnosis and Prognosis of Electrical Machines

Fast evaluation of the state of health of prominent electrical machine topologies with a few clicks! With simple user input, the software runs advanced diagnostic techniques to identify common faults, categorizing the severity and providing recommended actions. The software offers:

  • Motor Current Signature Analysis in transient regimen to identify rotor faults and phase unbalances in induction motors.
  • Motor Current Signature Analysis in steady-state regimen, a classical diagnosis technique.
  • Stray Flux Signature Analysis for non-invasive diagnosis, following the lastest trends in state-of-the-art techniques.
